AiTai Chair
あいたい/ AiTai– a chair design where diversity meets dialogue. Inspired by the Japanese word for “I want to see you” or “I miss you.” Each chair in this collection embodies a sense of connection and the bonds that bring us together.
Crafted to provoke conversation, “Aitai” chairs invite interaction and offer diverse seating options that reflect the individual tastes and personalities of those around the table. Whether it’s a cozy dinner for two or a lively gathering of friends, these chairs spark dialogue and connection, enriching every moment shared.
Designing this chair was about finding harmony between tradition and modernity. By letting the materials speak, we revealed their true essence. The design is simple yet innovative, with every element serving a purpose. The chair enhances its surroundings without dominating, inviting quiet interaction. This philosophy extends to the entire furniture line. Flowing lines, grounded forms, and a sense of lightness define the collection.
Collaboration was essential, each sketch and prototype was a shared moment, proving that design thrives on dialogue and connection. Challenges became opportunities, as integrating materials seamlessly demanded care and creativity. This furniture line tells a story—of Portuguese tradition, shared creativity, and the beauty of simplicity. These pieces are quiet presences, connecting people and space.
