Following its iterations in Venice, Bonn, and Athens, the Onomatopoeia Exhibition in Portugal features a selection of works that investigate the dialogue between matter, space, and perception. This edition highlights works developed specifically for the Portuguese context, including the Porto Slaughterhouse, the Gulbenkian Modern Art Centre, and the Portuguese Pavilion for Osaka Expo 2025.

The exhibition is structured around thirteen onomatopoeias that offer an intuitive and sensorial entry point into KKAA design philosophy. Each onomatopoeia reflects a particular mindset and a way of perceiving and responding to a site — embracing local materials, construction traditions, and the atmospheres that shape each project. Through models, photographs, and immersive installations, the exhibition invites visitors to experience architecture as something tactile, emotional, and deeply connected to its environment.

This exhibition reinforces the commitment to fostering dialogue between cultures and expanding the ways in which contemporary architecture can be understood, felt, and shared.

Exhibition period: October 4, 2025– March 8, 2026
