As a special project for the 5th anniversary of MOCTION, a PR facility for wood utilization in Tokyo, an exhibition was held regarding the “Kagaku-no-Sato” Main Building Project from the Nippon TV program “Tokoro-san no Me ga Ten!

The exhibition showcased the trajectory of the project from conception to completion, emphasizing resource circulation and biodiversity within the village. By integrating traditional carpentry with advanced 3D CAD technology, the project demonstrated an organic structure made from local materials. The display aimed to visualize a mechanism of symbiosis that connects various elements of the Satoyama* and carries forward local culture and Japanese tradition.

Through the display of actual logs used in the project, traditional wooden plans by carpenters, and an immersive look at the ecological networks surrounding the site, the exhibition offered a comprehensive perspective on the possibilities of architecture living in harmony with nature.

*Satoyama: a traditional Japanese rural landscape where human activity and nature coexist in balance.

Exhibition period: December 4, 2025 – January 6, 2026
