Water / Cherry
This villa adopts a dispersed layout and stands on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. By separating each structure, it achieves the human scale and warmth reminiscent of a traditional tea house. Both exterior and interior surfaces make extensive use of a traditional Japanese detail known as Yamato-bari, where wooden boards are alternately overlapped, reflecting the architectural pursuit of subtlety and intimacy.
