A traveling exhibition, Kenzo Tange & Kengo Kuma Exhibition – Architects of the Tokyo Games, first held in 2024 at the Maison de la Culture du Japon in Paris, was presented in Imabari, Ehime Prefecture—Kenzo Tange’s childhood home.
Imabari also holds special significance for KKAA, as it is the site of several early representative works, including the Kiro-San Observatory and fenua.

In addition to the content shown in Paris, the Imabari edition featured large-scale tarpaulin prints of Tange’s buildings in the city, photographed by Mikiya Takimoto, as well as an urban-scale model of the greater Imabari area. These displays offered insights into the depth of Tange’s passion for Imabari, his hometown.

The exhibition also presented the Uwajima City Date Museum, which is being designed by KKAA. Through this project, visitors are able to understand how this region has served as a vital source of inspiration for both architects, for whom “nature” remains a lifelong theme in an area where the rich dialogue between land and sea continues.

Exhibition period: August 2 – September 28, 2025
