We aimed to build a chapel which merges with the earth, building up a series of stacked “rings”. The ring signifies the pledge of marriage, and its shape symbolizes the cycle of life.

At the exterior, precast concrete rings are filled with earth, blending the building with its surroundings as the vegetation grows. At the interior, we stacked rings of sliced plywood to create a warm and organic forest-like room.
