N/A 2019ANA-The Suite / The Room
We aimed to bring a sense of openness and comfort characteristic of traditional Japanese architecture to the interior design of an airplane.
The cabin spaces are gently divided by natural materials such as castor aralia, rosewood, and washi paper. Japanese-style sliding doors and widening the seats re-create the sensation of sitting on a soft tatami mat rather than in a chair. By combining traditional Japanese wisdom and modern technology, we aimed to make the long in-flight experience more comfortable.
