Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur
Located in the center of Kuala Lumpur, the Hyatt Regency Hotel was designed based on the theme of Malaysian culture and nature.
The façade draws inspiration from tin craftsmanship, a traditional Malaysian craft, expressing an integration of tradition and innovation. The hammered, textured panels reflect light, and their random angles create rich shadows, achieving harmony with the surrounding environment while evoking an urban presence.
The interior space incorporates Malaysia’s distinctive colors and natural materials, expressing a fusion of culture and nature.
The lobby bar features a bar counter featuring the national flower, the hibiscus, while the all-day dining area combines Peranakan tiles with traditional wood.
The main lobby features illuminated walls and a woven wood louvered ceiling inspired by local craftsmanship.
In the meeting rooms and club lounge, rattan ceilings handwoven by Malaysian artisans are introduced, capturing the appeal of traditional craftsmanship that cannot be achieved through industrial products alone.
Through a design approach that pixelates traditional patterns, cultural motifs are reinterpreted in a contemporary manner, reconstructing tradition as a new design language.
