This villa is located within Shiba Park in Tokyo. The design explores how to blend a rectilinear, box-like form with the surrounding wooded landscape by creating an exterior that mimics the softness of living skin. The outer surface was created by spraying a mixture of soil and adhesive onto three layers of steel mesh, producing a textured and shaded façade. The plastering work was carried out by artisan Shuhei Hasado, who also handled interior finishes. The ceiling incorporates bamboo leaves and mica, while the walls are finished with oak ash. These choices reflect a new generation of plasterwork that uses unconventional materials to explore diverse expressions of earth.
