WHITE CLIFF
We designed a museum-like house for living with art on a site facing a park on a hill.
Using white granite (White Stone) with a rough split-face finish, we created a place where humans confront the materiality of stone directly—resembling a cliff or a quarry.
Inside, a series of voids of varying sizes are linked together to form a dramatic sequence rising from the earth toward the sky. Within each volume, contemporary artworks are placed that best fit the scale and lighting conditions of the space.
The project sought to create a new form of dwelling in which art and nature—stone and the park—resonate with one another.
