We designed a table and bench which reuses CLT scrap wood from the manufacturing process of Moku-an (2022). Moku-an is an entirely wooden mobile architecture project, built using CLT.
The table is a three-layer, three-ply, 90 mm thick, heavy piece of CLT supported by three thin wood pieces with a special multi-purpose joint.
The freestanding bench made of three CLT planks supporting each other is an expression of the cross-sectional structural strength of CLT.
By recycling small left-over CLT pieces to make furniture, we discovered a new way to utilize the CLT material and proposed a new outdoor life tool that can withstand the harsh conditions of the outdoors.
