This soba restaurant, located at the entrance to the Togakushi Jinja Upper Shrine (Okusha), which is one of the most sacred places for mountain worship in Japan, is directly operated by the shrine.

Light and the field of view are controlled by sliding the wooden louvers on the exterior walls and brown polycarbonate panels. Togakushi soba is normally served in a basket made from ground bamboo. Lighting fixtures and other interior furnishings in this building were made from ground bamboo.
