Salviati Venezia Chandelier dieXe
Glass chandelier designed for Salviati, an well-established Murano glass company in Venice. It is on display in Piazza San Marco from November 2024 to March 2025.
It pays homage to the ambivalence inherent in glass: solid and liquid, transparent and colorful, modern and artisanal. “dieXe” means X (ten) in the Venetian dialect, a symbol of connection and unity. Peacock green is Salviati’s iconic color and represents the color of the Venetian lagoon. The surface of the glass has a natural texture, like the wooden piles (bricole) of the Venice lagoon, capturing the shimmering surface of the lagoon water.
The chandelier displayed in Piazza San Marco shows the potential of Murano Glass to weave new stories in the future, as Murano says, “Murano lights up the world.
