Water / Stone
Located on a sloped lakeside site, this villa is integrated with a Japanese garden. Instead of a single large structure, the program is divided into five separate volumes, each corresponding to different functions. This fragmentation allows architecture to better respond to the complexity of the terrain and creates a village-like human atmosphere.
Each of the five volumes is given a distinct design, achieving harmony through diversity.
Particular attention was given to the landscape design between the buildings and the slope. Using elements such as water and stones, which are neither architectural nor purely natural, the design mediates between the structures and the terrain. Unity is achieved through thin roof edges and gentle slopes.
