We designed an iittala store in Omotesando, dedicated to Finnish glass products.
As part of the process, we visited the iittala glass factory in Iittala Village, located about an hour and a half by car from Helsinki, where we learned about the collaborative history with Alvar Aalto and drew inspiration from those episodes.
Lighting fixtures were created using glass forms inspired by branches submerged at the bottom of a lake, while the shelving system was composed of oak rods with circular cross-sections, likewise evoking the image of branches. Through the accumulation of these elements, the store becomes a space that feels as though one has wandered into a forest.
