Jean-Michel Folon, one of Belgium’s most representative artists of the 20th century, left a former farmhouse in the countryside outside Brussels as his museum.
Resonating with the gentleness toward nature and hope for the future embodied in Folon’s work and responding to the warmth of the wooden space and its intimate human scale, an exhibition of Kengo Kuma’s work was designed for this setting.

The works were organized into four themes, lightness, softness, nature, and geometry, and installed within the attic space of the former farmhouse.

Instead of conventional exhibition panels, drawings and photographs were printed on soft, translucent fabric, creating a dialogue between Folon’s space and philosophy and Kuma’s architectural philosophy.

In addition to architectural models, full scale mockups using actual materials and a tearoom made of super-organza were exhibited, offering a direct experience of the materials and their textures.
