I believe that modern architecture must explore ways to coexist with nature and break away from the centralized, rigid structures of the past. Unlike the enclosed, isolated buildings of the 20th century, what is now needed are softer, more open spaces. By using lightweight materials like fabric, architecture can seamlessly blend into its environment, creating flexible designs that extend throughout the entire space. The Miura fold technique is employed to shape fabric into a cloud-like form that not only purifies the air but also achieves harmony with its surroundings. This concept is exemplified in the installation at the sloped space of LEEUM Museum, where the varying elevations offer a multi-faceted viewing experience.
Additionally, the architectural and artistic approaches rooted in the diverse climates of Asian countries serve as a guide for a future that prioritizes harmony with nature. By utilizing materials and techniques that are in tune with local landscapes and environments, new forms of architecture and art can emerge, paving the way for a sustainable and innovative future.
