A repository for a wooden Amitabha Buddha statue(designated an important cultural asset) dating back to 12th century, standing in the precincts of Anyo-ji Temple in Toyoura-cho,Yamaguchi Prefecture.
External walls are made of adobe 35 cm cube, in a reproduction of the local traditional adobe method. Partially reinforced with iron plates,‘porous’details of adobe were developed, designed to filter air and light. Since adobe has a humidity controlling function, air conditioning was not installed, adopting the idea of regulating the environment by means of the material itself.

山口県豊浦町安養寺の境内にたつ、12世紀の木造阿弥陀如来（重要文化財）の収蔵施設。
地元に古くから伝わる日干しレンガ（アドベ）広報を再現し、35ｃｍ立方の日干しレンガを積み上げて外壁を作った。部分的に鉄板で補強する事で、風と光を通すボーラスな日干しレンガのディテールも開発した。日干しレンガは調湿機能を有するので、空調機械を設けず、素材そのものによる環境の制御という考え方を採用した。
