Bamboo Nest
Using the technique of Take Kago, or bamboo baskets, a traditional Japanese craft that combines softness and strength was used as an inspiration for the planning of a small teahouse in a park in Prague.
The traditional bamboo weaving technique known as Ajiro Ami originated from Ajiro, a woven, net-like device used to catch fish. By using this beautifully patterned weaving technique, a 7mm wide strip of bamboo is made into a strong yet soft structure, creating a light tearoom made of strips of 100-meter of bamboo cloth.
Once inside the tearoom, we are like fish caught by the Ajiro and captured in its unique light and shadows.
