Located in the skirts of mountains, the center was built to revitalize the town of hot spring. To realize “architecture as abstracted nature,” the volume came out in different-sized triangles supporting one another, spreading with various accents to harmonize with its environment. The triangles are the basic system of structure that covers the entire space. Painted in three slightly different colors, the building can change its face with shades of this complicated polyhedron. While a complex of multi-purpose hall, folk museum and tourist center, they all exist in a single space, divided by floor levels. Devise to secure air volume of the hall and flutter echo treatment are reflected in the roof design.
