A museum dedicated to the works by Hiroshige Ando, an Ukiyo-e artist.
An attempt to materialize in architecture his unique spatial structure that he has built inside his woodblock prints. He has tired to express the three-dimensional space through superposition of layers. Such method contrasts with the perspective seen in Westernpaintings, and has had a major impact on Impressionism and Frank Lloyd Wright`s architecture. Here, wooden louvers made of local cedar are used to materialize this superposition method. The cedar is treated with fireproof and rotproof processes for roof use.
